Osnat Netzer's "Dot : Line : Sigh" Album Release Event

Dot : Line : Sigh, Netzer’s debut recording, will be released Friday, February 2 on New Focus Recordings. The album features an exceptional roster including Ensemble Dal Niente, Mivos Quartet, ~Nois saxophone quartet, flutist Eric Lamb, soprano Amanda DeBoer Bartlett, saxophonist Geoffrey Landman, and others, plus the composer herself on piano. The seven-track album will be available both digitally and on CD.
To mark the release, Netzer will perform music from Dot : Line : Sigh with Geoffrey Landman and violist
Michael Hall at Experimental Sound Studio in Chicago on Saturday, February 10 (7pm). In addition, ~Nois will perform their track on the album, I AM FUCKING ZEN. The celebration will feature themed cocktails, refreshments, and an exhibition by artist Ayala Netzer, the composer’s sister, who designed the album’s cover.

A Celebration of Latin American composers and their music in honor of Latin American Heritage Month. Program includes works for solo saxophone by Gabriela Ortiz and Astor Piazzolla.

The Kansas Virtuosi are artist faculty members and advanced graduate students from the School of Music at the University of Kansas. With individual performance credentials spanning six continents, major symphony orchestras, and leading opera and musical theater companies, the ensemble represents the finest collection of musical artists in the state of Kansas and the American Heartland.

Longy's Divergent Studio: Opening Concert with loadbang

The opening concert for the 2022 Divergent Studio features performances by Longy and Divergent Studio faculty members Donald Berman, Geoff Landman, and the members of loadbang (Andy Kozar, Jeffrey Gavett, William Lang, and Adrián Sandí). Kicking off what will be an incredible and invigorating two weeks of creation, music by composers Amy Beth Kirsten, Francisco Del Pino, Lisa Atkinson, John McDonald, Jeff Nichols, Marti Epstein, Jeffrey Gavett, and Arshia Samsaminia will be presented at this opening celebration.

Divergent Studio Composers will have the opportunity to write for one of our four ensembles of new music specialists. This includes loadbang, Transient Canvas, Divergent Quintet, and Divergent Trio.

Divergent Quintet is comprised of Longy performance faculty and new music specialists Sooyun Kim (flute), Kemp Jernigan (oboe), Rachael Elliott (bassoon), Rane Moore (clarinet), and Geoffrey Landman (saxophone).
